Appium Server Related Query wrt Selenium RC server

Hi All,

Please clarify below query related to Appium Server

  1. Why do we have separate Appium server instead of single client library
    e.g. selenium of 2006 had a separate server which one needs to start and stop explicitly , but now it’s not there anymore.
