Can't run Android test on device or simulator

Original error: packageAndLaunchActivityFromManifest failed. Original error: Could not find aapt Please set the ANDROID_HOME environment variable with the Android SDK root directory path.

Happens on Device or Emulator

On the device, I see a pop up with ‘Unfortunately, Appium Settings has stopped’

Anyone has insight into why this is happening?

ANSWER

You have to specify “appActivity” and “appPackage” in your capabilities.
