How to open Settings in iOS before launching app using Appium?

I am working on an iOS app test with Appium. During one of my tests I need to open set particular settings on the simulator before launching the app. Specifically set the language and region.

Can someone please help me on how to do it?

Can you help here please? I want to launch Preferences/Settings on a real iOS device. I am using Appium 1.6.4-beta and java client 4.1.2.
