Run from source ./reset.sh gives a git error

I downloaded the zip for v1.3.0 and unzipped it in a folder. Using the terminal I cd into said folder and run :

./reset.sh

I get the following error:

RESETTING GENERAL

  • Nothing to do, not a git repo
    RESETTING IOS
  • Setting iOS config to Appium’s version
    Running “setConfigVer:ios” (setConfigVer) task
    Config file exists, updating it
    {“ios”:{“version”:“1.3.0”}}
    Done, without errors.
  • Cloning/updating udidetect
    fatal: Not a git repository (or any of the parent directories): .git
