# The app crashes right away on an iPad using Appium but not Xcode

@brentlavelle I am not sure what you want to do with swipe gesture, but I am able to use swipe on real device ( my app use swipe down gesture to refresh the view).  
Unfortunately it does not work on simulator and this has been confirmed by this thread: [iOS 8 swipe / scrollTo](https://discuss.appium.io/t/ios-8-swipe-scrollto/879/18)
