Appium App newb: where or where (on your site) is there anything that details how this is to be used?

From the Appium Home page I’ve clicked the Download Appium button. Once installed the app is launched. However, I see nothing on the site as to ‘how to’ use it? Is there a quick start tutorial/video which I’ve somehow missed?
