I did Above setup

Xcode version 14.2
Appium version 1.22.3-4
node v18.12.1
MacOS Ventura 13.1 (I am unable to downgrade to xcode 13.4 because of lastest mac software).

–>When I was trying to build WDA of Appium v-1.22.3.-4. I got this Error.

Cannot link directly with dylib/framework, your binary is not an allowed client of /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/Library/PrivateFrameworks/XCTAutomationSupport.framework/XCTAutomationSupport for architecture arm64

Then I replaced the current WDA of appium v-1.22.3-4 with WDA 4.9.0 (unzip and replaced) And I successfully build an Integration app on an actual(real) Device

But i got this Error [W3C] Encountered internal error running command: Error: Could not load a driver for automationName ‘XCUITest’ and platformName ‘ios’. Please verify your Appium installation

Screenshot 2023-01-03 at 5.42.23 PM

Then I Replace appium-xcuitest-driver(unzip and replaced).

but still same Error

[W3C] Encountered internal error running command: Error: Could not load a driver for automationName ‘XCUITest’ and platformName ‘ios’. Please verify your Appium installation

From Eclipse

Exception in thread “main” org.openqa.selenium.SessionNotCreatedException: Could not start a new session. Response code 500. Message: An unknown server-side error occurred while processing the command. Original error: Could not load a driver for automationName ‘XCUITest’ and platformName ‘ios’. Please verify your Appium installation

Then I Upgraded to Appium 2.x
————————————>Appium 2.x<————————————
Xcode version 14.2
Appium version 2.0.0-beta.48
node v18.12.1
MacOS Ventura 13.1 (I am unable to downgrade to xcode 13.4 because of lastest mac software).

:heavy_check_mark: Listing installed drivers

/Users/fafroz12/.appium/node_modules/appium-xcuitest-driver/node_modules/appium-webdriveragent

I build WDA from here and Successfully Build Integration app on Real devices.

------------->And this Question is regarding AppiumForMac<-----------------
https://www.headspin.io/blog/automating-mac-apps-with-appium

I followed the same step

Screenshot 2023-01-03 at 6.32.35 PM

I am unable use driver.findElementByXpath(“Axpath”).click; and driver.findElement(By.xpath(“Axpath”)).click;

Appium 1.X not support ios 14+

Move to appium 2.0

I was using Appium (version: 1.22.3) and a simulator of iPhone 14 Pro (iOS: 16.2) and the following capabilities:

capabilities.setCapability(“platformName”, “iOS”);
capabilities.setCapability(“platformVersion”, “16.2”);
capabilities.setCapability(“deviceName”, “iPhone 14 Pro”);
capabilities.setCapability(“app”, “Users/XXXX/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/XXXX.app”);

Everything worked fine in both Appium Inspector and my code since previous week and now I am getting the following error while I have not changed/updated anything

IntelliJ:
org.openqa.selenium.SessionNotCreatedException: Could not start a new session. Response code 500. Message: An unknown server-side error occurred while processing the command. Original error: Could not load a driver for platformName 'ios'. Please verify your Appium installation

Appium:

Given that it worked fine with the above configuration (Appium: 1.22.3), why it doesn’t work now? Could you please help me to fix this?

Issue fixed when I uninstalled and installed again the Appium 1.22.3 version.

The problem that you are seeing, and the fix you have, are related to the modularization of the drivers. Appium 1 is monolithic in that all the drivers are preinstalled. With Appium 2 you have an additional step to install the drivers that you need. See here for more info:
