Couldn't find a device to launch

  1. I have upgraded my Xcode version from 6.4 to 7.1.
  2. I have created a simulator as iPhone 6(8.3).
  3. Then I started appium server, It throws below appium error log.

Error:-
error: Could not find a device to launch. You requested ‘iPhone 6 (8.3)’, but the available devices were: []

error: Could not pre-launch appium: Error: Could not find a device to
launch. You requested ‘iPhone 6 (8.3)’, but the available devices were: []

  1. It shows simulator list as empty.

Appium 1.4.8 does not support Xcode7.X, but I did not see details about your appium on the above log.It is time to upgrade your appium too unless if you are using the latest version of the appium.

@Sruthi, I am having appium version as 1.4.13.
