Difference between 'arc' and 'irb'

Hi,

can someone please clarify difference between arc ( appium ruby console ) and irb ( interactive ruby ) ?

P.S. irb is getting converted to rib and forum s/w not allowing me to enter ‘irb’ in subject or body as well

arc uses pry to provide an irb like experience for using appium with ruby.
