Getting error: Could not set the device type in Info.plist when clicking on the appium launch button

Appium not starting getting “error: Could not set the device type in Info.plist”

I am using MAC OS 10.8 and tried different combination of appium and xcode but getting this error on every combination. Not able to start the appium.

Able to start it programmatically but with that I won’t be able to use Appium inspector.

Xcode appium combination tried.

XCode 6 - Appium 1.3.7, 1.3.6, 1.3.4
Xcode 5.1 - Appium 1.3.7, 1.3.6

Please help me out need it to be fixed as soon as possible

Why not? If you programmatically start Appium then open Appium App and click the Appium Inspector button (do not ‘start’ Appium from the App) what happens? This has always worked for me.

i face the same problem when i use appium GUI 1.4.13 .
I fixed this problem when i use appium CLI 1.5.1.
