Shake function broken?

Hey I’m using the appium ruby_lib for automating tests for my iOS app, and calling the ‘shake’ method doesn’t seem to do anything on the simulator (or real devices). Is this working for anyone else?

I’m building against xCode 7, iOS 8/9.
