I’ve been really trying to hit the ground running with Appium, starting with Appium Desktop.
If anyone is interested, on my site Adventures in Automation, I have a six part blog series I am writing on installing and configuring all the moving parts to get Appium Desktop to run. It is specifically written for manual testers who are trying to switch to being an automation developer.
Learning Appium Desktop:
- What is Appium Server and How Do You Start It With Appium Desktop
- How to Connect To Your Android Device Using the Android SDK, the Android Command Line Tools, and the Android Debug Bridge
- Setting up remote devices through WiFi
- Setting up Android Emulators with Android Virtual Device Manager (avd), choosing the Android operating system version
- Find the Desired Capabilities: appPackage and appActivity. Bug in AAPT if giving just appName
- Using Appium Desktop (still trying to figure out how to tie a bow on this series)
